I'm a Black, queer artist and metalsmith based in Chicago.

I first began metalsmithing in 2021 at a local studio. I started my handmade small batch jewelry business, Metal Petal Jewelry, in February of 2023. I design and sell ready-to-wear and custom pieces. I also design art objects for display and exhibition.

I create jewelry and objects out of brass, silver, and gold as well as natural objects like pearl, stone, and rope. My work focuses on form and shape as the central feature evoking emotion and connection – taking simple objects and materials and making them into objects of adornment. Through my work I expresses elusive feelings and aesthetics that are deeply tied to my identity as a queer Black person. I explore the importance of joy, kinship, context, indigeneity, and “cultural (il)legibility.” Black and queer futurity are cornerstones of my design practice as I pull from past and contemporary influences to imagine adornments for people like me.
